Wine By Nature Without Side Effects

Have you ever wondered why wine makes you feel so sleepy, sloppy, and downright hungover the following day? Let’s face it, not everybody is able to handle ingesting the 76 various chemicals and additives that are added to domestic wine in the US, especially those of which are carcinogenic.  Yep, that’s right, some of those ingredients are carcinogenic and counterproductive to any wellness lifestyle.  I understand that this fact may come as a shock to you. I will admit, when I learned about the truth about domestic wine, I too was shocked and extremely disappointed. How on earth could the “organic” and “biodynamic” wine that I was purchasing from the nation’s largest natural food grocer, who prides themselves on selling whole real food, be marketing products that are harmful to its customers?

My Wine Story

I have never been a big “drinker” of alcohol.  I am clearly a lightweight when it comes to drinking any type of alcohol, and I have always limited the quantity to 1 – 2 glasses at a time per occasion. I typically choose to drink red wine, because I am aware of the health benefits.  For years, I had been purchasing organic wines.  A few months ago when my girlfriend informed me of the chemicals and additives that domestic wines are loaded with, even the organic wines, we made a decision to stop drinking those wines.  This dear friend of mine is also my partner in wellness.  We constantly share information and wellness discoveries with one another, and challenge ourselves with a variety of wellness disciplines.

While having dinner on a recent Saturday night, I re-introduced just one glass of domestic red wine into my meal. Unfortunately, I paid the price by feeling extremely lethargic the following day.  Then the sneezing and sinus issues started with a non-stop runny nose that was clearly induced by that single glass of wine.  I was reacting to the toxins in the wine that I had successfully avoided for weeks, until taking a risk that night.  I do not intend to ingest domestic wine again.

The Truth about domestic wine

Here is the bottom line, when looking closely at how the US wine industry operates, it’s all about mass production, shelf life, and money.  Our society is heavily industrialized and commercialized.  Similar to the practices of our current food supply, the winemaking process and farming techniques have changed dramatically from the natural fermented process of the pesticide free grapes that our ancestors once enjoyed.

Decades ago, the wine industry joined the food industry in putting profit above transparency and customer safety. You see, the FDA has approved all 76 of these chemicals and additives, with 38 of them being “generally regarded as safe” (GRAS). If the wine you are purchasing is not organic, it more than likely contains glyphosate as well. Furthermore, the government does not require any ingredient labels on alcohol, including the precise percentage of alcohol content.  We clearly are blind to what we are ingesting and far too trusting of the FDA.

Have You Been In The Dark too?

Consumers are truly in the dark when it comes to drinking any form of alcohol in the US.  This is dangerous and disgraceful.  Ever wonder why we have an epidemic of alcoholism in this country?  Could it possibly be that many, if not most people, simply can’t process the hidden chemicals and additives in domestic alcohol, and are having unfavorable and sometimes life-threatening reactions? Could there be chemicals in those wines and alcohols that are truly addicting and block perception of reality in addition to causing headaches and brain fog?  The fact is that conventional wines often contain fungicides, mycotoxins, pesticides, herbicides, phthalates, excessive sulfites, fibers, gums, added sugar, antimicrobials, tartaric acid, flavors, commercial yeast, and colorants such as teeth staining Mega Purple, to name a few.

Our government is literally allowing us to be harmed & poisoned.  But we as consumers can choose to avoid everything that we know is unsafe and detrimental to our health.  My wish is for you to open up to this knowledge and information. Explore the facts.  Make better choices and avoid domestic alcohol at all costs.  It is toxic and detrimental to vibrant health, vitality, and well-being.  I know, it seems like a huge challenge right now to give up something that is an enjoyable part of your current lifestyle, but don’t fret, I found a solution.

real Wine without headaches, hangovers, and interrupted sleep

What would your life be like if you could simply savor the taste of wine at dinner as it stimulates your palette allowing you to further enjoy the taste of your real, whole, beautifully prepared food?  Could wine as an indulgence actually be essential to anti-aging, health and happiness?  Absolutely yes.  The alcohol and antioxidants in wine supports the heart by increasing good cholesterol (HDL – high density lipoprotein).  Recent studies have proven that drinking wine in moderation, combined with exercise, does in fact reduce cholesterol.  People who consume wine in moderation on a daily basis are also less likely to be depressed.

  1. First – your blog was very informative and eye opening. I know many wine drinkers who would benefit from learning more about the choices they now have. I don’t drink wine that often (couple times a month) so I am not sure the challenge makes sense for me.
I am interested in buying some to try and to share with friends and family. I am not sure which link would be best to do so. I appreciate your insights and thank you in advance for your reply.
